This tastes like it came from the best Chinese takeout restaurant ever, you guys. Except it's healthier than all those extra additives that they include at the takeout restaurants. I'm so excited for you all to try this recipe!
Ingredients: (Serves 2)
1 lb chicken breast, chopped into cubes
1 cup dry white rice, 2 cups water to cook
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup corn starch
1/4 shallot, chopped
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup honey
1 tsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp ginger powder (or fresh ginger if you prefer)
1 tsp garlic salt
1 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
1 green onion, chopped (for topping)
Sesame seeds (for topping)
Recipe:
Chop 1 lb chicken breast into 1 inch cubes. Toss into a bowl and add garlic salt, pepper, and corn starch. Mix around until the chicken is fully coated in corn starch.
Put vegetable oil into a pan and let it heat up on medium heat. Once heated, add in your chicken pieces one by one. Heat for ~6 mins (or until side is browned). Move the chicken pieces around a bit so they don’t stick to the bottom of the pan. Flip each chicken piece.
Add in your shallots and garlic and let cook for ~3 mins.
Add in your honey, soy sauce, ginger powder, garlic powder and red pepper flakes. Cut the heat. Stir until it’s all mixed together.
Serve over a bed of white rice. Top with green onions and sesame seeds. Enjoy!
