Italian Chicken Sausage Orzo

Ingredients: (Serves 2)

  • 1 cup dry orzo

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 cups chicken broth

  • 2 Italian chicken sausage links (Aidells brand)

  • 1/4 white onion, chopped

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 4 green onions, chopped

  • 1/4 cup Parmesan, for topping


Recipe:

  1. Heat a pot/dutch oven on medium heat with olive oil

  2. Once heated, add on your chopped onion and garlic. Let simmer for ~3 minutes

  3. Add in your chopped chicken sausage links. Let cook for ~5 mins (or until they’re browned)

  4. Add in your orzo and let pan fry for about 2 minutes

  5. Add in your chicken broth and stir. Make sure to stir every minute or so, so it doesn’t stick to the pan

  6. Let cook for ~10 minutes, or until the broth has been fully absorbed by the orzo

  7. Add in your chopped green onions. Stir and then serve

  8. Top with Parmesan. Enjoy!
