With each forkful, you'll experience a delicious mix of flavors that make this Sage Butter Gnocchi with Prosciutto and Chicken Sausage a meal you won't forget.
Ingredients: (Serves 2-3)
16 oz potato gnocchi (I used Delallo brand, but you can use any brand you prefer)
2 chicken sausage links (I used Aidell's Chicken Sausage - Italian Flavor)
6 slices of prosciutto
8 sage leaves
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons olive oil and 1 teaspoon olive oil
Seasonings: garlic powder, salt and pepper
Optional: top with grated parmesan
Recipe:
Heat a pan on medium heat with 1 teaspoon olive oil. Once hot, add on your prosciutto slices. Let cook for about 10 minutes on the stove, or until golden brown. Remove from the stove and set on a plate or cutting board.
On this same medium heat pan, add your chopped chicken sausage (I chopped them into coins). These should only take about 4-5 minutes to cook since the pan is already pretty hot. Remove them from the heat once done.
On a separate pan, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil on medium heat. Once hot, add on your gnocchi and pan fry for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with garlic powder, salt and pepper.
5 minutes before your gnocchi is done pan frying, add in 4 tablespoons of butter and let melt fully. Then, add in your sage leaves. Stir around until the sage leaves become a little bit crispy. Once the gnocchi is done, add on your cooked chicken sausage and cooked prosciutto. Optional: Top with grated parmesan. Enjoy!
